Frequently Asked Questions About Mold
Throughout the years, we've received copious amounts of questions in relation to mold growth, prevention and the remediation process. Check out some of the answers to the most frequently asked questions we receive.
How Can I Prevent Mold from Growing?
Moisture control is the key to mold control. When water leaks, spills or floods occur indoors, it's important to act quicky and remove the water as soon as possible. If wet or damp materials are dried quickly and efficiently, in most cases mold will not be an issue. Keep in mind that mold growth can begin in 24-48 hours. To ensure you've dried the spaces effectively, we recommend calling in a professional water damage restoration company, like us.
Where Do You Usually Find Mold?Mold can be located throughout your home wherever water may be present, or around areas where damage has occured, such as a pipe bursting. Common spots to check include basements, attics, crawl spaces, bathroom, and kitchens. Learn where mold likes to hide.
What do I do if I find Mold in my Home or Business? Our owner, Matt Golemboski, was featured in an article in the TimesUnion's Life@Home magazine, in which he highlights what to do if you discover mold in your residence. Check out the article at "Mold Management" to learn more.

How Much Does Mold Remediation Cost?
Without knowing the scope of damage, it is hard to offer an accurate estimate without seeing each individual project. When a 3rd party mold assessor completes an official mold assessment of the property, their report will include a range of what they believe the cost of the remediation should be. Keep in mind that this typically does not include the cost of the reconstruction, if the property owner decides they want that completed as well.
Can You Stay In Your Home During Mold Remediation?
With the exception of extreme damage where a property is deemed uninhabitable due to high levels of toxic mold, you can stay while work is being done. Our mold removal specialists will section off affected areas, called containment zones. However, you should steer clear of these parts of your home or business until work has been completed.
How can I Reduce Humidity Levels to Limit Mold Growth?
CleanBright is a proud Santa Fe dehumidifier dealer. These dehumidifiers not only reduce humidity problems, but also improve air quality. Customers have the option to purchase and have these dehumidifiers installed in their wet, musty basements and crawlspaces to help stabilize the humidity and moisture levels in the property.

Our experience with CleanBright Surface Restoration was extremely positive. Not only did they remediate the mold in the basement but also got rid of the mold spores in the air & that musty odor. They were very methodical in their remediation & did exactly what was proposed & all at a lower price than other contractors. Despite 1 other company with a lower price, we selected CleanBright based on their extensive experience remediating mold. Very glad we did. They used the proper equipment & supplies to do the job right & gave us a 10-year transferable warranty. We highly recommend them to whoever has a need to remediate mold quickly & safely.
