What Should you Know About the NYS Mold Law?
In 2016, New York State adopted its Mold Program, which is a set of guidelines that are focused on protecting and educating property owners regarding the mold remediation process. Only NYS licensed professionals are permitted to legally conduct any type of mold remediation process on your property. In addition, this law states that you must receive a mold assessment before any mold remediation can commence. The mold assessment CANNOT be from the same company that will carry out the mold remediation. This is meant to safeguard the property owner.
